Who am I?

I was born in California but reared in Alabama so I am a native Californian with an Alabama accent. This is very different from the accents in "Gone With the Wind." probably one of the worst movies ever made. I have a B.S. in Chemistry from the U of Alabama, a M.S. and Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the U of South Florida. I spent about 25 years working in research for oil companies and one bearing company. I cannot say I like crude oil but I do like lubricants.

My specialized area is called tribochemistry. This is the basic science of friction and wear as seen by a chemist. Engineers working in this area are called tribologists. I am definitely not an engineer. I am a non linear thinker . Most engineers are linear thinkers, meaning they go from point to point with zero wandering. It took a strange combination of fields of expertise plus some non linear thinking to result in a new lubricant like Silver Series. It is not like anything else. It required forgetting all the old rules and finding out what the new rules are for silver based lubricants.
